Naming Ceremonies

Naming Ceremonies

Naming Ceremonies are a beautiful way to celebrate the arrival of a new baby or a new member into your family. They are not only for celebrating new life but for also embracing blended families as well as name changes.

A naming ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate your loved one with family and friends!

There are many ways that you can have a naming ceremony, from a simple welcome and naming of your child, to a karakia, blessing or reading for your loved one. You may also like to include other family members to take part in the ceremony.

My role as your celebrant is to help you to create a ceremony that reflects just how much your loved one means to you and your friends and family.

My Role As Your Celebrant

With me as your celebrant you will receive the following:

  • An initial meeting free of charge to get to know each other and to go over paperwork.

  • Ongoing meetings as required either in person or via zoom to organize, plan and prepare for your pet ceremony.

  • Examples of blessings, readings and rituals that you might like to include.

  • Examples of how to incorporate Tikanga and Te Reo Māori into your ceremony (if desired).

  • Ongoing support available through emails, phone or via zoom.

  • Rehearsal prior to the day if required.

  • Officiation of your ceremony on the big day.

  • Optional follow up meeting after the ceremony for reflection.

Kia Ora!

Feel free to contact me to discuss your ceremony, I would love to hear from you.
